Diab (@Hassan_B_Diab) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Hassan_B_Diab\/status\/1263392160663175168?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 21, 2020<\/a><\/blockquote> <script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>  <br \/>  <br \/>  According to PM Diab, BDL has promised to intervene and protect the national currency, whose devaluation has lead to increasing prices of basic goods. Their plan includes providing dollars to import essential foods. <br \/>  <br \/>  \u201cI received a promise from the governor&#8230; that the bank will intervene in the market, starting from today, to protect the Lebanese pound and to rein in the rise of the dollar exchange rate,\u201d Diab said.<br \/>  <br \/>  He also explained that the government&#8217;s investigation of the central bank is at the top of their list of achievements, making it the first time in Lebanon&#8217;s history for BDL to be scrutinized this way. <br \/>  <br \/>    <blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\"><p lang=\"ar\" dir=\"rtl\"><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/%D8%A8%D8%AA%D8%B6%D8%A7%D9%85%D9%86%D9%86%D8%A7_%D9%86%D9%86%D8%AC%D8%AD?src=hash&#038;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\"><\/a><br> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/wXRGtlQWvY\">pic.twitter.com\/wXRGtlQWvY<\/a><\/p>\u2014 Hassan B.
