be closing down until further notice. <br \/>  <br \/>  In the video, the team behind Beirut Marathon Association are filmed clearing out their offices as they share a few touching thoughts on the situation. <br \/>  <br \/>    <iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"border:none;overflow:hidden\" scrolling=\"no\" frameborder=\"0\" allowTransparency=\"true\" allow=\"encrypted-media\" allowFullScreen=\"true\"><\/iframe>  <br \/>  <br \/>  &#8220;It&#8217;s only a phase, we&#8217;re going through it, we&#8217;ll get over it,&#8221; says one team member.<br \/>  <br \/>  The Beirut Marathon Association was founded in 2003, and has since been organizing events, fundraisers, and marathons that have placed Lebanon on the international sports map for 17 years now. <br \/>  <br \/>  Following the October 17 events in Lebanon, the association <a href=\"https:\/\/www.beirut.com\/l\/58943\" target=\"_new\" rel=\"noopener\">cancelled the Beirut Marathon for 2019<\/a>, and announced that the 17th edition of the event will take place on November 8, 2020 instead.<br \/>  <br \/>  But nearly one month ago, they announced that they will <a href=\"https:\/\/www.beirut.com\/l\/59999\" target=\"_new\" rel=\"noopener\">suspending all activities<\/a> &#8220;due to the crisis caused by the combined effects of the economic crisis followed by the COVID-19 pandemic.&#8221;<br \/>  <br \/>  With matters only getting worse in the country, it seems they have come to the decision to close down for now.<br \/>  <br \/>  &#8220;It&#8217;s hard to say goodbye, but this is a see you later&#8230;,&#8221; read the caption. &#8220;Until we meet
