Several sources have reported that six hospitals are at risk of shutting down due to fuel shortages, as they are unable to run their generators.<br \/>  <br \/>    <blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">The 7-day average COVID-19 cases in Lebanon has more than quadrupled since the start of last month amid medicine, equipment and fuel shortages; while the syndicate of private hospitals warned today that some hospitals risk shutting down due to a lack of diesel to run generators <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/pHvIqlDM0x\">pic.twitter.com\/pHvIqlDM0x<\/a><\/p>\u2014 Omar Tamo (@OmarTamo19) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/OmarTamo19\/status\/1424378254996221956?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">August 8, 2021<\/a><\/blockquote> <script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>  <br \/>  <br \/>  Just last month, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.beirut.com\/l\/62194\" target=\"_new\" rel=\"noopener\">Sibline Governmental Hospital announced it would be shutting down<\/a> due to the harrowing crisis. The hospital cited its inability to purchase basic necessities and medical equipment as primary reasons for this, as well as its inability to come up with the money needed to pay salaries. This is a huge blow to Lebanon&#8217;s already crumbling healthcare sector, and one that affects those who cannot afford private healthcare the most.<br \/>  <br \/>  According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/thelawyard\/\"target=_new\">the Lawyard<\/a>, Health Minister Hamad Hassan warned that the country might have another lockdown by the end of September if COVID-19 cases continue to rise at their current rate.
