Equation<\/b><br \/>  <br \/>  A heavy metal band directed by Mirna Hage who took the lead after Lydia Canaan, a vocalist known for making headlines as \u201cthe first Lebanese female rockstar\u201d.<br \/>  <br \/>    <iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1004\" height=\"753\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/XFvkBqWIwoM\" title=\"YouTube video player\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>  <br \/>   <br \/>  <B>2. GRG <\/b><br \/>  <br \/>  Which stands for the Ghassan Rahbany Group, one of the first heavy metal bands to exist locally, co-produced by RML and Radio One and most famous for their hit song <i>\u201cAl Jamhour A\u2019ayiz Kida\u201d<\/i>. Fujitive Entity <\/b><br \/>  <br \/>  A metal band formed by Cynthia Zaven, Karen Murr, Robert Azar, Fadi Saad, Jihad Said, and Jihad Murr who participated in the festival for two consecutive years as well. ZED <\/b><br \/>  <br \/>  A rock duo starring singer Karol Sakr and music composer Hadi Sharara whose first album\u2019s title track \u201cAway\u201d made it to local TV stations after its release in early 1990s. Angel <\/b><br \/>  <br \/>  Angel is the stage name of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.beirut.com\/l\/62409\"target=\"_new\">Lydia Kanaan<\/a>, the artist featured on the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as \u201cthe first Lebanese female rockstar\u201d. Bruna <\/b><br \/>  <br \/>  Bruna is also known as soprano Mirna Shaker who won many singing competitions during her stay at London where she pursued medical studies. Revelations <\/b><br \/>  <br \/>   <br \/>  <B>Bands who performed in year 1998:<\/b><br \/>  <br \/>   <br \/>  <B>16.   Cimmerian Path <\/b><br \/>  <br \/>  Formed in Beirut in November 1996, this Symphonic Black Metal band born from the Doom Metal group \u2018Dogma\u2019 was a controversial one well known among local listener. It features a line-up of five members &#8211; vocalist Nassim Tabri, keyboardist Sako Missirian, guitarist Hamid Khoriaty, bassist Elias Abboud, and drummer Carlos Abboud &#8211; who played gigs with local and international bands after the release of their first and only self-produced album \u201cInto The Depths of Ruthless Excellency\u201d in 2001.<br \/>   <br \/>    <iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"928\" height=\"696\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/rhy5hfH9wwg\" title=\"YouTube video player\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>  <br \/>   <br \/>  <br \/>  <B>17.   SoapKills <\/b><br \/>  <br \/>  Formed by <a href=\" https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/zeidhamdan\/\"target=\"_new\">Zeid<\/a> and <a href=\" https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/yasminehamdan\/\"target=\"_new\">Yasmine Hamdan<\/a>, this indie electro-pop duo has been merging classical Arabic music and lyrics with electronic tunes since October 1997, establishing themselves as the pioneers of Lebanese underground music. The Kordz <\/b><br \/>  <br \/>  A Beirut-born alternative rock and metal group that stunned people with their worldwide success. The members performed at the 2004 Virgin Festival alongside Benny Benassi, Robbie Rivera, Narcotic Thrust, Kurtis Mantronik, Chamonix, and Emma Daumas.<br \/>  In 2012, they launched their debut album \u201cBeauty + The East\u201d and were featured on the 40-minutes-long \u201cRock In A Hard Place\u201d documentary exploring the odds faced by rock\/metal bands in the Middle East.<br \/>  <br \/>    <iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1280\" height=\"720\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/NmneEGqP5C4\" title=\"YouTube video player\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>  <br \/>  <br \/>   <br \/>  <B>Bands who performed in year 2009: <\/b><br \/>  <br \/>  <br \/>  <B>19.   TristMoon <\/b><br \/>  <br \/>  TristMoon, now known as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/official_innerguilt\/\"target=\"_new\">Inner Guilt<\/a>, performed for the first time ever at Discordance in 2006, and have since then became a well-known band in Arab metal scene.<br \/>  <br \/>    <iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1280\" height=\"720\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/VFNZxkI2Cao\" title=\"YouTube video player\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>  <br \/>  <br \/>   <br \/>  <B>20.   <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/theweepingwillowleb\/\"target=\"_new\">The Weeping Willow<\/a> <\/b><br \/>  <br \/>  A Lebanese death metal band founded in 1996 under the name \u201cOpposites\u201d. The name changed in 1998 with a complete line-up of musicians hailing from Lebanon, Armenia, and Poland. Some members departed in 2000, but the band is still standing strong until this very day. <br \/>  <br \/>    <iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1280\" height=\"720\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Z3BPw-o-w8E\" title=\"YouTube video player\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>  <br \/>  <br \/>   <br \/>  <B>Bands who performed in year 2011: <\/b><br \/>  <br \/>   <br \/>  <B>21.   Eileen Khatchadourian <\/b><br \/>  <br \/>  An Armenian-Lebanese singer referred to as \u201cThe powerful voice of the diaspora\u201d by Agos newspaper. Eileen&#8217;s 2008 debut album \u201cMidan\u201d fused Traditional Armenian songs with alternative-rock rhythms and won \u2018Best Rock Album\u2019 at the Armenian Music Awards in LA. <br \/>  <br \/>    <iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1280\" height=\"720\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/quzNB6QFLn0\" title=\"YouTube video player\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>  <br \/>  <br \/>   <br \/>  <B>22.   EpiSode <\/b><br \/>  <br \/>  The instrumental Progressive Rock and Metal trio conceived in 2007 with electric violinist Avo Demirdjian, drummer John Laham, and bassist Karno Baghdassarian. Their music style is experimental, uniting elements drawn from classical and orchestral soundtracks.<br \/>  <br \/>  <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.beirut.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/63438-1.png\"><br \/>  <br \/>   <br \/>  <B>23.   <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/kimaeraofficial\/\"target=\"_new\">Kimaera<\/a><\/b><br \/>  <br \/>  The leading Lebanese Death Metal outfit founded in 2000. <br \/>  The band released their fourth roman culture-inspired album \u201cImperium\u201d one month after the frontman and chief lyricist Jean Pierre Haddad had passed away in February. <br \/>  <br \/>    <iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1280\" height=\"720\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ir8nEHehA_U?list=OLAK5uy_mbGpra6IvroyU6SylbiO0paDQ5yYfAV1A\" title=\"YouTube video player\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>  <br \/>  <br \/>   <br \/>  <B>Bands who performed in year 2013: <\/b><br \/>  <br \/>  <br \/>  <B>24.   The Coolcumbers <\/b><br \/>  <br \/>  A six person ensemble originally formed in the Summer of 2010 by pianist Ralph Haiby. Near Surface <\/b><br \/>  <br \/>  Members Mark Najjar, Cyril Yabroudi, Carlos Abboud, and Elie Zakra got together in 2009 as \u201cAmy Smack Daddy\u201d, then released their debut album \u201cCrooked Landings\u201d under the renewed name \u201cNear Surface\u201d. His music got support from major bands like Guns\u2019n\u2019Roses, Motley Crue, and Scorpions, and he had the chance to tour the Uk and Ireland with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/sonsofapollo1\/\"target=\"_new\">Sons of Apollo<\/a>.
