That is where bread was an important part of people&#8217;s diets and zaatar was a very common household item. Rumor has it that the word itself has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.grandlb.com\/politics\/59152\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Turkish origins<\/a>, but it comes from the Arabic word <em>naqasha<\/em>. Working class families most commonly consumed the zaatar manouche. Maybe that&#8217;s where the phrase &#8220;el zaatar akel m3attar&#8221; phrase comes from! <\/p>    <p><\/p>    <p>The cheese manouche was for those who owned cow or sheep and had access to milk. The <em>kishek<\/em> was for those with wheat and cows.<\/p>    <p><\/p>   <div class=\"lazy-load-block-container\"><img style=\"width: auto; height: auto;\" class=\"lazy-load-block\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.beirut.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/Screenshot-2024-01-09-at-2.49.12-PM.png\" alt=\"\" \/><\/div>   <p><\/p>    <p>The manouche has evolved over the years. However, Lebanese <a href=\"https:\/\/www.annahar.com\/arabic\/article\/935790-%D8%AA%D8%A7%D8%B1%D9%8A%D8%AE-%D8%A7%D9%84%D9%85%D9%86%D9%82%D9%88%D8%B4%D8%A9-%D8%A7%D9%84%D9%84%D8%A8%D9%86%D8%A7%D9%86%D9%8A%D8%A9-%D9%87%D9%84-%D8%A3%D8%AE%D8%B0%D9%87%D8%A7-%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%A5%D9%8A%D8%B7%D8%A7%D9%84%D9%8A%D9%88%D9%86-%D9%88%D8%AD%D9%88%D9%84%D9%88%D9%87%D8%A7-%D8%A5%D9%84%D9%89-%D8%A8%D9%8A%D8%AA%D8%B2%D8%A7\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">chef Karim Bibi<\/a> says that it lost some of its values because of the electric oven.<\/p>    <p><\/p>    <h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-but-how-did-it-gain-popularity-abroad-how-did-it-even-reach-other-countries\">But how did it gain popularity abroad? How did it even reach other countries?<\/h3>    <p><\/p>    <p>The manouche has become available in several different countries. Part of its historical transgression outside of the Levant area was thanks to Palestinians. On their way to <em>hajj<\/em>, the breakfast found its way to the <a href=\"https:\/\/books.google.com.lb\/books?id=7IoaOFcJYAAC&amp;q=manaqish&amp;pg=PA107&amp;redir_esc=y#v=snippet&amp;q=manaqish&amp;f=false\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Arabian Peninsula<\/a>, as well.
