After renovating and reopening Tripoli&#8217;s iconic Ampere cinema <a href=\"https:\/\/www.beirut.com\/en\/63787\/tripolis-ampere-cinema-set-to-reopen-after-28-year-absence\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">after 28 years of absence<\/a>, actor and director Kassem Istanbouli has set his sights on renovating <strong>&#8220;Le Colis\u00e9e Cinema&#8221;<\/strong> in the heart of Hamra. Built back in 1945, it stands as one of the oldest cinemas in the city.<\/p>    <p><\/p>   <iframe title=\"Embedded Instagram Post\" allowtransparency=\"true\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" frameborder=\"0\" height=\"532\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/C6EVJaaM7wh\/embed\/\" scrolling=\"no\" style=\"background: white; max-width: 540px; width: calc(100% - 2px); border-radius: 3px; border: 1px solid rgb(219, 219, 219); box-shadow: none; display: block; margin: 12px 0px 12px !important; min-width: 326px; padding: 0px;\"><\/iframe>   <p><\/p>    <p>The renovation intends to reopen the cinema as the <strong>Lebanese National Theater in Beirut<\/strong>. It will act as a free cultural space where training workshops, festivals, and artistic performances are set to take place.<\/p>    <p><\/p>    <p>Talking about the project, Istanbouli said, <em>&#8220;The goal of the project is to establish a link between the south, the north, and Beirut, as it is a complement to our dream, which began with the establishment of the Lebanese National Theater in Tyre seven years ago, which is the first free theater and cinema in Lebanon.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>    <p><\/p>    <p>Led by a passionate group of volunteers, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/tiro.arts\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Tiro Association for Arts<\/a> (TAA) has been working to revive Lebanese cinema. Once featuring prolific filmmakers, iconic movies, and a vibrant cultural scene, Lebanese cinema contributed significantly to the region&#8217;s cinematic heritage.<\/p>    <p><\/p>   <iframe title=\"Embedded Instagram Post\" allowtransparency=\"true\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" frameborder=\"0\" height=\"532\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/Ce-tgmIFmIv\/embed\/\" scrolling=\"no\" style=\"background: white; max-width: 540px; width: calc(100% - 2px); border-radius: 3px; border: 1px solid rgb(219, 219, 219); box-shadow: none; display: block; margin: 12px 0px 12px !important; min-width: 326px; padding: 0px;\"><\/iframe>   <p><\/p>    <p>After successfully reviving the Al Hamra and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.beirut.com\/en\/46306\/nabatiyeh-is-about-to-get-a-theater-after-27-years\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Stars Cinema<\/a> in Nabatieh, followed by the transformation of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.beirut.com\/en\/56431\/rivoli-cinema-to-reopen-in-tyre-after-29-years-of-neglect\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Rivoli Cinema<\/a> in Tyre into the city&#8217;s national theater\u2014the first free cinema and theater in Lebanon\u2014the TAA most recently undertook the restoration of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.beirut.com\/en\/63787\/tripolis-ampere-cinema-set-to-reopen-after-28-year-absence\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ampere Cinema<\/a> in Tripoli.
