The Green Mill is truly the home of natural sourdough. They believe in making real bread the slow, old-fashioned way, baked fresh every day. No added preservatives. No shortcuts. No exceptions.<\/p>    <p><\/p>    <p>Their peanut butter and almond butter? 100% natural. I\u2019m pretty sure they\u2019re just back there blending peanuts behind the counter. And don\u2019t even try to leave without grabbing a pack of brownies. It\u2019s basically impossible.<\/p>    <p><\/p>    <p>As for the sourdough\u2026 it smells so good, you\u2019ll start wondering if they make candles. And the taste? So good, you kind of understand why Jesus tried to take credit for bread in the first place. But hey, don\u2019t just take my word for it. Ask any white foreigner what their favorite Lebanese bakery is. And let\u2019s be real, sourdough is the only food you\u2019d actually trust a white person\u2019s opinion on.<\/p>    <div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>    <h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-2-tusk-mar-mikhael\">2. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.beirut.com\/en\/directory\/tusk-bakery\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">TUSK!<\/a>, Mar Mikhael<\/h3>    <p><\/p>   <iframe title=\"Embedded Instagram Post\" allowtransparency=\"true\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" frameborder=\"0\" height=\"532\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/CS6Vz9cMfIm\/embed\/\" scrolling=\"no\" style=\"background: white; max-width: 540px; width: calc(100% - 2px); border-radius: 3px; border: 1px solid rgb(219, 219, 219); box-shadow: none; display: block; margin: 12px 0px 12px !important; min-width: 326px; padding: 0px;\"><\/iframe>   <p><\/p>    <p><strong>Tusk<\/strong> was pretty good. Pretty pricey, but pretty good. They\u2019ve got an almost overwhelming variety\u2014pastries, manakish, pizza&#8230; I haven\u2019t seen an identity crisis this bad since I watched <em>Split<\/em>.<\/p>    <p><\/p>    <p>If the waiters start wearing wigs or propeller hats and talking about \u201cthe beast,\u201d run.<\/p>    <p><\/p>    <p>Bonus point for naming your bakery after a Fleetwood Mac song. Personally, I would\u2019ve gone with <em>\u201cSilver Springs \u2013 Live at the Warner Brothers Studio in Burbank, CA 5\/23\/97\u201d<\/em>, but apparently that\u2019s <em>too<\/em> wordy.<\/p>    <div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>    <h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-3-mavia-gemmayze\">3. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/maviabakery\/?hl=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Mavia<\/a>, Gemmayze<\/h3>    <p><\/p>   <iframe title=\"Embedded Instagram Post\" allowtransparency=\"true\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" frameborder=\"0\" height=\"532\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/CjxwkXUMr2Q\/embed\/\" scrolling=\"no\" style=\"background: white; max-width: 540px; width: calc(100% - 2px); border-radius: 3px; border: 1px solid rgb(219, 219, 219); box-shadow: none; display: block; margin: 12px 0px 12px !important; min-width: 326px; padding: 0px;\"><\/iframe>   <p><\/p>    <p>As Gordon Ramsay once said, \u201cFinally, some good f*cking food.\u201d And as his kids probably said, \u201cMom\u2019s cooking is better.&#8221; Mavia runs with that exact philosophy. The bakery is staffed by underprivileged women, creating job opportunities while giving back to the community.<\/p>    <p><\/p>    <p>And if these women are anything like your <em>tante<\/em>, they would have found a way to make you feel guilty for not ordering the entire menu. Then they\u2019ll comment on how you barely touched your seventh serving of pizza. <\/p>    <p><\/p>    <p>Fear not, you&#8217;ll be more than eager to take leftovers. Mavia has some great sourdough that doesn\u2019t make you feel like you\u2019re performing open-heart surgery just to take a bite.<\/p>    <div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>    <h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-4-bread-and-salt-achrafieh\">4. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/breadandsaltlebanon\/?hl=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Bread and Salt<\/a>, Achrafieh<\/h3>    <p><\/p>   <iframe title=\"Embedded Instagram Post\" allowtransparency=\"true\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" frameborder=\"0\" height=\"532\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DH1IEx4MRDH\/embed\/\" scrolling=\"no\" style=\"background: white; max-width: 540px; width: calc(100% - 2px); border-radius: 3px; border: 1px solid rgb(219, 219, 219); box-shadow: none; display: block; margin: 12px 0px 12px !important; min-width: 326px; padding: 0px;\"><\/iframe>   <p><\/p>    <p>Much to my surprise: salt, not sold separately. At what point should sourdough bakeries start giving you chainsaws for cutlery? Don\u2019t get me wrong, the sourdough is not bad. They\u2019ve just fallen victim to the curse that haunts every avocado toast lover. Don\u2019t even get me started about the AI art on their instagram page. <\/p>    <p><\/p>    <p>Hayao Miyazaki is still alive so he might not be rolling in his grave, but I hope you know the man who single handedly keeps childlike wonder alive despises you. They do win some points for presentation and convenience. However, the bread was staler than small-talk with a tinder date. In my opinion the sourdough didn\u2019t taste very fresh.
