His plays were a mirror held up to society, reflecting its contradictions with biting satire and fearless honesty. Ziad\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/ar.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/%D8%B2%D9%8A%D8%A7%D8%AF_%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%B1%D8%AD%D8%A8%D8%A7%D9%86%D9%8A#%D8%A3%D8%B9%D9%85%D8%A7%D9%84%D9%87_%D9%84%D9%84%D9%85%D8%BA%D9%86%D9%8A%D8%A9_%D9%81%D9%8A%D8%B1%D9%88%D8%B2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">compositions<\/a>, often voiced by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.beirut.com\/en\/tag\/fairuz\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Fairuz<\/a>, gave Lebanon its eternal soundtrack. <em>Kifak Inta<\/em>, <em>Sa2alouni el Nas<\/em>, <em>Oudak Rannan<\/em>\u2026 all were companions to our childhoods, the backdrop to our heartbreaks, the poetry of our daily lives. His melodies carried a country through war, chaos, and fleeting hope.<\/p>    <p><\/p>    <p><\/p>    <p>For fifty years, Ziad Rahbani was the conscience of a nation. His words were sharp, his humor disarming, his truth uncompromising. No national day of mourning. No symbolic pause. The same country that has lowered its flags for politicians, presidents, and even foreign dignitaries (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.beirut.com\/en\/64129\/lebanon-announces-3-days-of-mourning-to-honor-queen-elizabeth-ii\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">such as Queen Elizabeth II<\/a>) could not stop for one day to honor the man who gave Lebanon its soul.<\/p>    <p><\/p>    <div style=\"display:flex;justify-content: center;align-items: center;\">   <div class=\"lozad wp-twitter-embed\" style=\"text-align: center;width:80%;max-width: 100%;\" data-twitter-src=\"https:\/\/x.com\/ghazayel\/status\/1949726596488679790\"><\/div>  <\/div>    <p><\/p>    <p>Maybe Ziad would have laughed at the irony.
