max-width: 540px; width: calc(100% - 2px); border-radius: 3px; border: 1px solid rgb(219, 219, 219); box-shadow: none; display: block; margin: 12px 0px 12px !important; min-width: 326px; padding: 0px;\"><\/iframe>   <p><\/p>    <p><\/p>    <p>The decision, announced on November 4, 2025, forces property <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/roulabahnam\/?hl=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">owner Roula Bahnam<\/a> to halt all works until the Public Prosecutor at the Court of Cassation in Mount Lebanon issues a final order following the completion of investigations. The court also instructed Jbeil police and the Coast Guard in Jounieh to enforce the ruling immediately, with a daily fine being imposed for any non-compliance.<\/p>    <p><\/p>    <p><\/p>    <p>Unfortunately, just hours after the ruling, activists were forced to once again stage physical sit-ins to prevent cement from being poured over the cave. <\/p>    <p><\/p>   <iframe title=\"Embedded Instagram Post\" allowtransparency=\"true\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" frameborder=\"0\" height=\"532\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DQqnR_6DOEN\/embed\/\" scrolling=\"no\" style=\"background: white; max-width: 540px; width: calc(100% - 2px); border-radius: 3px; border: 1px solid rgb(219, 219, 219); box-shadow: none; display: block; margin: 12px 0px 12px !important; min-width: 326px; padding: 0px;\"><\/iframe>   <p><\/p>    <p><\/p>    <p>The ruling follows weeks of public pressure and activism, including an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.beirut.com\/en\/764509\/activist-launches-open-ended-hunger-strike-to-save-amchit-seal-cave\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">open-ended hunger strike launched by environmentalist and journalist <strong>Saade Saade<\/strong><\/a> and a protest organized by the <strong>Save Our Seals Campaign<\/strong> at the site in late October. Despite earlier suspension orders by the Ministry of Environment and a ruling by Judge Ghada Aoun, illegal construction had continued, sparking widespread outrage among environmental groups and local residents.<\/p>    <p><\/p>   <iframe title=\"Embedded Instagram Post\" allowtransparency=\"true\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" frameborder=\"0\" height=\"532\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DQHxESGCOsE\/embed\/\" scrolling=\"no\" style=\"background: white; max-width: 540px; width: calc(100% - 2px); border-radius: 3px; border: 1px solid rgb(219, 219, 219); box-shadow: none; display: block; margin: 12px 0px 12px !important; min-width: 326px; padding: 0px;\"><\/iframe>   <p><\/p>    <p><\/p>    <p>Environmental organization <strong>TERRE Liban<\/strong> commended the new decision, calling it <em>\u201ca reinforcement of the rule of law and a crucial step toward protecting Lebanon\u2019s natural heritage.\u201d<\/em> The Save Our Seals Campaign reiterated its demand for a comprehensive <strong>Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA)<\/strong>, as required by law, emphasizing that any construction near the cave poses a grave threat to one of Lebanon\u2019s few remaining habitats for the endangered Mediterranean monk seal.<\/p>    <p><\/p>    <p><\/p>    <p>With this judicial decision, environmental advocates are celebrating a major step forward in the fight to protect the Amchit Monk Seal Cave, marking a rare example of Lebanon\u2019s fragile marine biodiversity finally receiving the legal protection it deserves.<\/p>    <p><\/p>    <div class=\"wp-block-thisis-thisis-more-like-this-block\">             <a href=\"https:\/\/www.beirut.com\/en\/760717\/amchits-famous-seal-had-pups-and-youre-still-single\/\" class=\"thisis-more-like-this-block__link\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"Amchit\u2019s Famous Seal Had Pups!
