The buses were provided through a grant from the Global Environment Facility (GEF) under a project implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), in close coordination with national and local government partners.<\/p>    <p><\/p>    <iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/video.php?height=476&#038;href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Freel%2F1819680962029996%2F&#038;show_text=false&#038;width=267&#038;t=0\" width=\"267\" height=\"476\" style=\"border:none;overflow:hidden\" scrolling=\"no\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" allow=\"autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowFullScreen=\"true\"><\/iframe>    <p><\/p>    <p>The move taps into a broader push to modernize the country\u2019s transport options, make commuting less of a headache, and cut down on emissions in a place where congestion is a daily reality.<\/p>    <p><\/p>    <p>The plan is to provide a cleaner and more modern alternative, alongside the public bus system that was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.beirut.com\/en\/749112\/heres-exactly-how-to-use-the-public-buses-in-lebanon-cost-and-schedules\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">launched back in 2024<\/a>. Official figures put public bus usage at around 7,000 passengers per day across the new network.
