This blocked Al Sabeh from running its quarries and resulted in significant losses over the years.<\/p>    <p><\/p>   <iframe title=\"Embedded Instagram Post\" allowtransparency=\"true\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" frameborder=\"0\" height=\"532\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DWOKsAyCFQy\/embed\/\" scrolling=\"no\" style=\"background: white; max-width: 540px; width: calc(100% - 2px); border-radius: 3px; border: 1px solid rgb(219, 219, 219); box-shadow: none; display: block; margin: 12px 0px 12px !important; min-width: 326px; padding: 0px;\"><\/iframe>   <p><\/p>    <p><\/p>    <p>Three companies have long monopolized Lebanon&#8217;s domestic cement market, Al Sabeh, Holcim, and Sibline. Largely harmful environmental practices emboldened by the lawlessness of managing quarries have allowed these companies&#8217; actions to go unchecked, all while they reap huge profits at the expense of our mountains and natural landscape. <\/p>    <p><\/p>    <p><\/p>    <p>Under the guise of sustainable practices and honoring international standards, these three companies have undoubtedly devastated areas that they have exploited. <\/p>    <p><\/p>    <p>In a statement shared, Al Sabeh company explained that it had obtained approval from the National Council for Quarries and Crushers to operate its quarries as early as 2015. The government had since failed to issue the required license, in violation of the law. In 2024, the State Council issued a final decision affirming their right to the license.
