The villa was built by Dr. Adib Basbous (1873\u20131950), a philosopher, diplomat, educator, and polyglot who studied in Paris. He appreciated art, architecture, and craftsmanship\u2014a love reflected throughout the property.<\/p>    <p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>    <p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After visiting the 1900 Paris World&#8217;s Fair, Basbous returned to Batroun with one of the area&#8217;s earliest cameras. He documented everyday village life through photographs. Many of these rare images have been preserved inside the villa, offering guests a fascinating glimpse into Lebanon&#8217;s past.
