Cliffhangers Storytelling Workshop

From Sep 26 to Oct 7, 2016
6:00pm -> 8:30pm
Mansion

Storytellers and listeners, Cliffhangers are having their first storytelling workshop.

This workshop will introduce you to storytelling tools and techniques while working on performance skills, public speaking and creative writing. We will mix impromptu storytelling with more rehearsed ones so that we become comfortable turning events and anecdotes into full-fledged narratives that are suitable for the stage.

About the facilitator
Dima Mikhayel Matta is a university professor of English and Creative Writing, a writer and an actress. She has received her MFA in Creative Writing from Rutgers University as a Fulbright scholar. Cliffhangers is a storytelling initiative that she has founded, and hosts monthly storytelling events where people attend to share their stories and listen to others. Along with these storytelling nights, she gives various creative writing workshops to various participants and age groups. She has been acting for the past 10 years with directors such as Lina Abyad, Sahar Assaf and Lucien Bourjeily. In 2015, she received a Fulbright grant to co-direct a play about the various types of oppression encountered in Lebanon.
