Live Love Recycle: New Free Recycling Service Launches In Beirut

The innovative team behind Live Love Beirut have just made a commendable announcement: they’ve launched a free recycling service in Beirut.

In partnership with World Food Program MENA and ACTED Lebanon, the Live Love team have launched Live Love Recycle – an e-bike based recycling service that will collect bagged recyclable items from households around Beirut within 20 minutes of an order. The Live Love Recycle App will help make the process swift and easy, and it is currently available for download for all android users – with an iOS system expected to be released in the next few days.

This inspiring project has been in the works for over 3 years, and the team have trained 400 individuals in need of jobs to be their special e-bike delivery drivers.

The process starts with you. Firstly, you’ll need to sort and separate your garbage: non-recyclables in one bag and recyclables in another. You can then open the Live Love Recycle app and order an e-bike to your home in Beirut. Within 20 minutes, trained personnel will come retrieve the bag of recyclable waste from you and swiftly deliver it to arcenciel.aec to be treated and recycled. The whole process is free and can be arranged with just a few taps on your phone screen, so no one really has an excuse not to take part. It’s time to start being kinder to our environment, and thanks to this inspiring step we can now do so in a surprisingly practical manner.

We hope to see more fruitful projects like Live Love Recycle keep surfacing in the country, and applaud the team behind it for leading by example and working towards alleviating Lebanon of one of its most dire afflictions.
