The Volunteer Circle: Helping People Help People

Despite the fact that there are tons of nonprofit organizations in Lebanon, finding suitable volunteer opportunities can be challenging.

Finding something that fits your field, interests, and schedule can become so time consuming that you’ll want to ditch the entire idea altogether. But worry not, because a new local platform is looking to streamline the process and simplify the entire ordeal.

Meet The Volunteer Circle, a new platform that brings together individuals who want to change the community by giving back, and nоn-profit organizations that provide opportunities for developing leadership and training responsibility.

An initiative for the people by the people, The Volunteer Circle looks to create a community that is readily accessible to support the hard work of NGOs, start-ups, local businesses, and artists.

Founded by Nadine Makarem and Malak Yacout – two volunteering fanatics – The Volunteer Circle hopes to bridge the gap between the general public and organizations, matching the many needs in our region with the many existing talents.

The impact, they believe, is mutual. Volunteering offers to help people in need, vulnerable communities, and meaningful causes, while the volunteer benefits from a mentally stimulating experience, as well as achieving self-fulfillment. It can also help individuals gain expertise in a field of their choice, and impact social and cultural change.
