This Lebanese MP Thinks Lunch At Le Grey Is A Budget Meal

Lebanese Member of Parliament Michel Daher took to his Twitter earlier today to share an image of his “budget lunch” with his followers… except his budget lunch was at Gordon’s Café in Le Grey Hotel.



Roughly translated, his tweet was captioned: “Hamburgers for lunch, a budget meal in line with the economic situation with members of the Economic Committee MPs Ali Bazzi, Shawqi Dakkash, and Roger Azar.”

Let’s do the math, shall we? One grass-fed prime beef burger at Gordon’s Cafe is for 32,000 LL. Four times the amount and you have 128,000 LL – drinks not included.

As one person cleverly tweeted, this “budget meal” equates to 20% of the minimum wage, which is enough to support a family of 4 for 30 days.
