Meet The Iconic Snack That Took Over Achrafieh… And Our Hearts

The unbeatable smell of freshly made sandwiches that hits you anytime you’re near ABC Achrafieh, we’re happy to report that Hajj Nasr, the spot that stole our hearts, has expanded into a new space all the while keeping the taste we adore.

This tiny hidden gem that dates back to the mid-1970s has recently expanded to Sassine Square; and continues to serve up some of the most delicious sandwiches we’ve ever had. The rules are simple, the older branch opens daily between 2 A.M and 8 A.M while the new spot is open from 8 A.M till 11 P.M. Basically, your Hajj Nasr cravings are now satisfied around the clock.

The story goes that Nassif Nasr and Hanna El Hajj decided to continue the legacy with the support and supervision of Nassif’s son. And we speak on behalf of the hungry city when we say that we’re grateful that we can now enjoy our favorite meals at any time of the day.

The original branch’s charm has a special place in the hearts of Beirut foodies, and the Sassine branch offers a more spacious, well-lit, and modern experience. Most importantly, it emanates the same iconic smell that has lured thousands of hungry stomachs for decades now.

In fact, we guarantee that if you ask anyone in the neighborhood about their visit to this street food landmark, they’ll regale you with stories about Hajj Nasr’s mouthwatering bites, funny comments, and unique charisma that is maintained till the wee hours of the morning.

The spot has garnered much attention for their delectable kafta and soujouk sandwiches, with foodies in Beirut loving the 3al we2if experience the snack has. Everyone also loves ending their meal with the notoriously sweet moz w chocolat w crema sandwich.

Our personal favorites? The unbeatable sawdet djej that keeps us coming back for more, and the beid w crema that we love during breakfast or…actually anytime of the day!

Visit the new Hajj Nasr branch with your parents and bond over how great the food tastes even decades later. That’s what we call some quality time over delicious food.

And be sure to follow Hajj Nasr’s hilarious journey on Facebook and Instagram. Alf Sahtein!
