Lebanese Man Sets Himself On Fire In Front Of Justice Palace

According to the National News Agency, a Lebanese man identified as George Kh. had set himself on fire earlier today in front of Beirut’s Justice Palace, in protest against delayed court case.

The state run agency reported that he poured diesel fuel on himself and set himself on fire near the Internal Security Forces checkpoint at the entrance of the Justice Palace.

The ISF rushed to extinguish the fire, and he was immediately transported to a nearby hospital after losing consciousness and falling to the ground.

Appeal Attorney Judge Raja Hammouche has asked for an investigation to be opened in the incident, taking into consideration eye witnesses who claimed that the man was mumbling incomprehensibly and asking for “medication”.

We wish him the speediest of recoveries.
