Lebanese Hospitals To Stop Receiving Patients On November 15

The Lebanese Order of Physicians called upon hospitals and doctors to implement what they’re calling a “warning day” on Friday November 15, 2019 in order to show how dire their situation truly is.

The hospitals have announced that they will stop receiving patients except for emergency cases and dialysis and chemotherapy patients.

The head of the Order said the rapidly deteriorating status of the health sector in Lebanon was largely due to the government not paying the dues owed to doctors and hospitals. The head also mentioned that the Order had exhausted all contacts with officials in order to remedy the situation to no avail, and thus is resorting to escalating.
