0 Car Accidents In The Past 24 Hours, Thank You Quarantine
Some good news in light of this pandemic.
The Lebanese Traffic Management Center (TMC Lebanon) has reported 0 car accidents in the past 24 hours.
This is great to hear considering that Lebanon has an alarming rate of car-accident related deaths, due to factors like underage driving, speeding, violating traffic laws, and more, as well as the nature of our unsafe roads and highways.
According to Ziad Akl, founder of the Youth Association for Safety Awareness (YASA), an average of 20-25 out of 100,000 people die annually from road accidents in Lebanon. These figures are around five times higher compared to other parts of the world.
Maybe we needed this quarantine after all?
STAY HOME.
