Here’s What Will Be Open As Of Monday, May 4

The Lebanese government, and the Ministry of Interior in particular have issued a five stage plan for reopening businesses in Lebanon. According to a cabinet decree, here is what is expected to open during stage two, which will come into effect on Monday, May 4th:

1. Restaurants and cafes

The businesses may only have 30% capacity at any given moment. No shisha cafes are permitted to open at this stage.

2. The factories that have not been open yet.

This includes all factories that are not related to the production of food or healthcare products. This includes different manufacturers.

3. Hairdressers and barbershop

We can breathe a sigh of relief on that one.

4. Playgrounds

Parents and kids can enjoy!

5. Outdoor sports courts

This includes basketball courts and soccer fields, but gyms are not included.

6. Car repair shops

Though from driving around Beirut, you’ll notice many are already open.

Phase 3 is expected to begin on May 11th, but is yet to be confirmed.
