Fashit Khele2: A Unique Platform For Mental Health Support

In light of current circumstances in Lebanon, it is now more important than ever for us to prioritize mental health and be more attentive to people around us.

Following this rhetoric, Sara Catherine Mourani, an AUB medical school graduate, created Fashit Khele2, an online support group for venting, discussion, and expression, under the guidance of Dr. Nayla Karame Majdalani, a psychologist in private practice.

Fashit Khele2 looks to compensate for the scarcity of mental health resources in Lebanon, and give people who have been deeply impacted by the economic crisis and pandemic a platform. However, it does not replace the role of a licensed therapist, and people who have had serious issues were given emotional support and were referred to a professional when appropriate.

The project has already kicked off with several successful Zoom sessions moderated by Sara, during which participants discussed a number of topics ranging from frustrations towards the global situation to personal mental health issues.

Sessions typically last a couple of hours, and are always held with different participants so everyone can get a chance to partake in this supportive and fulfilling experience. Best part? It’s completely free!
