Building Previously Home To Hanna Mitri Ice Cream Collapses Under The Rain

One of Beirut’s most historic buildings and previously home to popular ice cream parlor Hanna Mitri, an Achrafieh building has reportedly partially collapsed under the heavy rainfall last night.

The building had been damaged during the August 4 blast and was later evacuated by security forces. Even beloved Hanna Mitri had relocated, leaving behind a legacy that attracted locals and tourists from all over.

The street on which the building is located is now blocked by debris, and traffic has been redirected.

It has only been raining for a week in Lebanon and several buildings have already fallen apart, most of which were destroyed by the blast. Authorities had 3 months to avoid this safety hazard, but of course, nothing was done.
