Tripoli Man Hands Over Daughter To Army Because He Can’t Feed Her

Amid the chaotic protests and clashes that took place in the northern city of Tripoli last night, a man reportedly handed his 2-year-old daughter over to army personnel claiming that he can no longer feed her due to the dire economic situation in Lebanon.

The man was subsequently arrested for what was seen as an act that endangered the child.

As more and more families fall beneath the poverty line, the financial situation of many has become increasingly heartbreaking and desperate. Protests have since broken out all over Lebanon, as roadblocks appeared in Saida, Chtoura, and Khalde due to rumors regarding the extension of the current lockdown after February 8th.

Many protestors were transported by the Red Cross to the hospital due to severe injuries after clashes with army and security.
