Price Of Fuel In Lebanon Surges By 4,200 LL

Last night, Minister of Finance in Lebanon’s caretaker government Ghazi Wazni announced that fuel subsidies would gradually be lifted. The minister stated that the easing of subsidies would go from 90% to 85%, and that easing would continue as dollar reserves dwindle.

As expected, Lebanese citizens woke up to a huge surge in the price of fuel, the price of 20 Liters of 95 Octane is currently priced at 38,900 LL, a 4,200 LL jump from last week’s pricing. 98 Octane fuel has been unavailable in the market for several months.

Many stations around the country have been closed for a couple of days in anticipation of this price hike.
