After Gas Station Lines, Comes Passport Queues

If you think you’ve seen it all this year in Lebanon, we’re sorry to break it to you…

After the endless gas station queues Lebanon has been witnessing for the past few months, citizens are now forced to wait hours for the completion of any passport-related document. According to this Twitter user, people are waiting in line at 2:00 AM or 3:00 AM to grab a ticket for their turn to get their passport renewed.

It was recently reported that General Security offices have been overloaded by the demand for passports, previously processing 300 applications per day, with that number becoming a whopping 7,000 applications a day.

Lebanese citizens have been continuously humiliated and degraded, and although this treatment existed before the crisis, it has now worsened. With no reforms in sight, Lebanon has officially reached a total state of collapse.
