Internet Goes Down In Barouk, Halba, And Qobayat Due To Fuel Crisis

The long-anticipated and feared moment has arrived: an internet blackout due to the fuel crisis is upon us.

In a tweet published on their official account, internet and telecom operator Ogero has announced that their stations in Barouk, Halba, and Qobayat have stopped operating due to a lack of diesel fuel and no state power. This resulted in an internet blackout in the areas, a blackout that is expected to spread to other areas as diesel reserves continue to dwindle.

Ogero claims that their systems will be back up as soon as they refuel, but did not give a specific time frame for when that would happen.

With no end of this crisis in sight, we do not know where to go from here.
