We are always proud to report the success stories of Lebanese people, and today, we’re introducing Lydia Canaan, the first rock star of the Middle East.

Receiving several honorable mentions, Lydia Canaan is the first internationally successful Rock Lebanese artist who was mentioned in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Her mesmerizing voice led her to become the lead singer of the band Equation, the famous rock band of Lebanon’s late ’80s.

She then moved to Switzerland and pursued her singing career on the international scene where she released her most successful hit such as “Beautiful Life”. The song was adopted later adopted by President Nelson Mandela as the theme song for a charity event in South Africa.

As an artist with a voice and purpose, Lydia has used her voice to give hope to people and to advocate humanitarian causes in Lebanon and abroad. She became a United Nations delegate to the Geneva United Nations Human Rights Council!
