One Death, Several Injuries During Ongoing Clashes In Tayouneh
Traditional political parties took to the streets of Tayouneh this morning to protest Judge Tarek Bitar’s questioning of MPs Ghazi Zeaiter and Ali Hassan Khalil.
It was not long before heavy gunfire was heard, and several injuries were reported. As surreal as it may sound, several snipers were spotted atop the surrounding buildings of Tayouneh roundabout – one of whom was arrested. The Lebanese Army is currently on the scene. RPGs were also heard in the surrounding areas, something that is still happening as of 12:06 PM.
Sadly, a military source has confirmed one person to be dead as a result of these clashes. Several injured people were also taken to nearby hospitals, but there are no details about their condition as of yet.
