Fawzia Fayad Passes Away At 24 After Speaking Out About Cancer Med Shortages

You’ve probably seen this young Lebanese woman share her struggles as a cancer patient on TV while speaking out about cancer medicine shortages and subsidies lift on vital drugs, or during the October 17 revolution as she took the streets to fight for Lebanese people’s right to live and blamed corrupt political leaders for her sickness, calling them ‘the true cancer’.

Yesterday morning, Fawzia Fayad known as Foufou among her friends at the Lebanese University passed away after a long battle with cancer, and the same politicians she once blamed are to be held accountable for her death.

Here’s how people on Twitter paid tribute to Fayad:

After destroying the lives of more than 200 victims with a near-nuclear explosion, Lebanese politician’s nonchalance and mismanagement are still threatening the lives of thousands of cancer patients who are undergoing chemotherapy.

Fayad was one of the victims, but her beautiful message will always be remembered: “Ento byelba2lkun l hayet”.
