Sufra: A Farmer’s House Turned Into A Countryside Restaurant In Bekaa

Do you want to eat and meet up with your loved ones in a peaceful setting after a hectic week? This new restaurant tucked away in Barelias village is the blissful escape you need!

Wind through Bekaa valley and pull up to Sufra, an old farmhouse revamped into a Lebanese restaurant that revives tradition by incorporating rustic features of the agricultural landscape it occupies into its contemporary interior.

A long brick-tiled hallway leads you to the ‘sufra’ or buffet table that brings people together over sophisticated yet soulful Lebanese specialty dishes and artisanal mouneh. The valley-flavored menu includes Frikeh Salad, Zucchini Moutabbal, Lebanese Quiche, Beqaa Mante, Debs Cake, Halawe Tart, and Fraise Baklava.

The line between the indoor and outdoor areas is blurred by a glass wall ornamented with wooden arches, which lets in natural light and sounds of bird chirps and rustling leaves.

The nature that surrounds the place is brought inside through earthy muted tones balanced by a sage green wall, wooden ceiling beams, artisanal tabletops made out of dead Quina and walnut trees, earth ovens, botanical décor elements, curvy clay vases, pendant lamps, and wall sconces with dim yellow light to evoke feelings of serenity.

Sufra came to life through the vision of Delphine Gebran Interior Architect’s team, and is a getaway that looks as good as it feels!

Have yourself a virtual visit before you go to exhale all your tension at the door of Sufra:
