Dinosaur Footprints Found In Lebanon Dating Back 125 Million Years

A letter from the head of the Directorate General of Antiquities Sarkis Khoury has revealed an impressive geological discovery.

According to the letter, a team of experts and geologists have uncovered dinosaur tracks on a wall extending over 500 meters in the Kesserwan area of Ghosta.

The tracks are estimated to date back 125 million years, and likely belong to Ornithopods, Theropods, and Sauropods.

In the notice sent to the Governor of Mount Lebanon Judge Mohamad Makawi, Khoury requested that the lots that hold this discovery be protected from any damage or construction.

We sincerely hope that this impressive find is preserved, and does not fall victim to the relentless bulldozers that have maimed our mountains.
