Lebanon Announces 3 Days Of Mourning To Honor Queen Elizabeth II

As you have most definitely heard by now, Queen Elizabeth II’s 70-year reign ended last night when she died at 96.

This morning, the Lebanese caretaker government announced an official three day mourning period beginning today, Friday, and ending on Sunday the 11th, including the day of the funeral on September 18th.

In observance of this mourning, the Lebanese flag is to be lowered to half mast at all public administrations, institutions, and municipalities, and programs on broadcasting stations and television will be adjusted accordingly.

While many countries around the world are observing similar mourning periods, this may seem excessive to the millions of Lebanese people who feel unseen by their state.
