Danielle Arbid

Born In Lebanon in the year 1970, Danielle Arbid left the country at age 17, and went to France where she graduated from Sorbonne University and didn’t start making films until after she won $20,000 from a script-writing competition.

In the year 1997, she began directing films. Her international films received critical acclaims as well as several awards including the Video Golden Leopard and Silver Leopard, the Albert-Londres Award, and more.

Her two features, In the Battlefields and A Lost Man, have been selected at the Cannes film festival Director’s Fortnight in 2004 and 2007. Only In the Battlefields was released in Lebanon in 2004. Beirut Hotel is her third feature.
