The new format revolves around a three-tier pricing system. You can buy one item, pick up several, or buy in bulk. The price per unit drops as your quantity increases.

It’s designed to work for more than just the weekly groce ry run, too. The model is also aimed at small businesses, restaurants, retailers, and other customers who regularly buy larger quantities. Tawfeer believes the MAX format is built around everyday-low pricing rather than temporary promotions, with the company claiming it offers the cheapest prices in Lebanon all year round.

The Abbassieh branch is complete with an expanded store and a wider assortment of products. The expansion is also part of a bigger rollout. Tawfeer says two more store conversions are currently in the pipeline, with further expansion planned across Lebanon in 2027.

For shoppers, the biggest takeaway is pretty straightforward. The more you buy, the less you pay per item. Having access to lower prices year-round can make a real difference to those struggling.
