Amid mounting pressure from fans and activists, Mashrou' Leila announced on the band's Facebook page late Tuesday afternoon that they will not be opening for American Rock band the Red Hot Chili Peppers at the Beirut Waterfront concert on Thursday.
Over the weekend, many supporters plead with the band to back out of the concert because RHCP is scheduled to perform in Israel next week.
Bold and heroic move, guys. Fist bumps all around.

Still don't understand what RHCP playing at Israel has to do with people against Mashrou' Leila opening the concert. People are still going to go watch the band regardless of whether or not the play in Israel. how narrow minded!!
