The Daily Star newspaper reports that in 2012 alone, business for Beirut hotels has declined by a whopping 45 percent.

Hotels are now laying off and firing extra staff, presumably because they can't afford them.

I didn't even notice that tourism was hitting an all-time low in Beirut. But then again, revolts around the Arab world can't be good for business.
