French President Says Adieu to Homework

French President, Francois Hollande, announced publicly that he wants to get rid of homework, entirely.

His reasons for doing so are pretty logical; lots of kids don’t have support at home and their better-off peers have an easier time academically. Hollande also hopes to bring back the four-and-a-half day week, upping the schedule from the common four-day school week.

I feel like Hollande’s heart is in the right place; I mean who wants homework? But wouldn’t it be more effective to open an after-school help center? Even though I loathed homework as a kid, I honestly feel like the after-school review helped the learning process immensely.

What do you think? Oui or non to homework banning?
