Syrian Refugees Sheltered in Lebanese Buildings

We’ve heard so much about Syria lately that I think we’re beginning to become numb to its victims.

Thousands of Syrians have crossed the border into Lebanon with the majority of them living 20 to a house, if they’re lucky. @UNICEFmena tweeted this heartbreaking image today of a Syrian child among trash with the caption: “Syrian refugees are now sheltering in schools and other public buildings like this in Lebanon.”

We cannot deny that the recent influx of Syrians is not met with dislike. I’ve seen dogs treated with better respect than some foreign workers. Their country is falling apart and their leader is massacring their people and yet we cease to find any sympathy in our hearts.

Humanity was once a virtue.
