Navras: An Indian Dance Course at Metro Al Madina

If you’re interested in learning the secrets of Indian dancing, then make sure not to miss this exciting workshop at Metro Al Madina.

This six-week workshop introduces a new art form to the city of Beirut and offers participants the opportunity to experience ancient dance theater originating from the South of India, recently popularized internationally. Comprised of dramatic story telling and pure dance movements, Indian Classical Dance utilizes different hand gestures, neck and head movements as a way of communication and ultimately provides the dancer tools to reflect different rhythms of the universe and tell tales of the worldly and otherworldly.

Over the course of 12 sessions, participants will engage with pure dance technique, exercises in narration and fusion choreography (classical and modern styles). Dancers, actors and individuals new to these forms are encouraged to apply for this unique opportunity.
