The Golden Days of Virgin

Look familiar? Currently a Virgin Megastore in downtown Beirut, this building was once alive in a different era, and by the looks of things, positively thriving.

Tweeted by @asalame, I assume this picture is from the 50’s or 60’s, based off of the gigantic poster of Sabah in her glory days. Clothing is also a major clue; women are pictured wearing long skirts and pantyhose while men seem almost uniform in a collared tucked-in shirt and dress pants. Pretty classy, don’t you think?

Things change over the decades, but if there’s one thing we can take comfort in, it’s knowing that Sabah will always be there…always.
