In an adorable video created by Beirut Celebrations, a Lebanese man goes through all the necessary steps of celebrations – hanging signs, blowing up balloons, and preparing a Lebanese-themed cupcake. What starts off as a friendly and cutesy video turns into the man sitting alone in a darkened office, with the words “No one likes to celebrate alone” ringing in the background.

It’s a poignant reminder that the Lebanese people make no effort whatsoever to celebrate their independence and country, preferring instead to sit on the sidelines unenthusiastically. This year, Beirut Celebrations teams up with Beirut.com in an effort to change what needs to be changed.
