The AUB Nature Conservation Center held its second Annual Baldati Bi’ati Exhibition at Beirut Souks (Jewelry Souk – Souk Al Sagha).
Baldati Bi’ati 2012 included an exhibition of 17 green maps and a documentary that showcased the important role of municipalities in preserving nature on a local level. During the course of the year, villages in Lebanon partner with the AUB Nature Conservation Center to create green maps that reveal the villages’ main natural and cultural landmarks and future green initiatives. Villages with the most significant environmental initiatives are awarded by the Center. Participating villages have preserved traditional environmental activities such as beekeeping, harvesting and hiking, among many others.
