Meet Rivoli Cinema. Now Say Goodbye.

So here’s another gorgeous building you probably haven’t heard of. It’s also been demolished.

Meet the famous Rivoli Cinema, a beautifully designed building which used to stoically sit in Martyr’s Square. This postcard, created round the 1960’s, shows the beautiful mesh of washed-out colors decked out on to cars, people, and architecture, as the Rivoli Cinema stands aloft.

Tweeted by @LebaneseProblem, this photo brings a reminder that much of our national treasures are being destroyed to make room for new ones. Beautiful even in black-and-white, its such a shame to learn that magnificent structures such as this no longer exist. Are new-fangled skyscrapers even worth it?
