Bcharre is home to Lebanon's few remaining and preserved Cedars. It is also the birthplace of the famous Lebanese poet and artist Khalil Gibran.

Locals have a notably distinct accent due to the fact that Aramaic was spoken in Bcharre as late as the 19th century.
