Spotted at a Beirut Restaurant: Falafel with a Side of ‘Torture’

File this one under: #OnlyinLebanon

From the creators of the Phoenician alphabet, we bring you this miserable menu item: a “Dozen Flafel and vegetable and torture,” from the Damas restaurant in Gemmayzeh.

Yes torture. Of course, it’s just an awful misspelling of the word Tarator, a dip which usually consists of Tahini (sesame paste), garlic, olive oil and lemon.

As for the spelling of “Flafel,” who needs vowels, AMIRIGHT?

For the grammatically laid back who want to try that, give the restaurant a call at 01448444.
