Second Student Civic Engagement Conference

From Apr 16 to Apr 17, 2015
9:30am -> 3:30pm
American University of Beirut (AUB)

CCECS is hosting and organizing its 2nd Student Civic Engagement Conference under its Supporting Service Learning component, whereby students come together from diverse majors and backgrounds to tackle the posed challenges and provide suggestions through the academic lens they bring forth.

This semester, the conference brings together AUB scholarship students (USP/USAID and MEPI) and two civic engagement and research courses from American University in Cairo (AUC). The event serves as a platform for students to engage in roundtable discussions and debates on topics related to refugees and marginalized communities, human rights, social justice and civic engagement, which will be facilitated by AUB/AUC professors and local community partners.

In addition, there are three segments in the program that include Anchor Speakers from local community partners, who will share their experiences in an effort to highlight on local efforts being carried out in response to pressing issues facing Lebanon and the region. These segments are open to the AUB community and will be followed by Q&A.

Location: West Hall, Auditorium A
