Really, Really Scary Things To Carve Into Pumpkins On Halloween

Halloween is right around the corner, and we couldn’t be more excited! It’s always fun to go shopping for costumes for all the Halloween parties we’re attending. Though trick or treating is still not very common in Lebanon, we still think it’s cool to decorate the house and carve some pumpkins; after all, what’s Halloween without a good ole carved up pumpkin! As scary as frowning faces can be, we have more creative ideas for you. Here are a few scary things you can carve into your pumpkins this year:

1. “Student Loans”

I don’t know about you, but I sure as hell cringe whenever these two words come up. Now that’s one pumpkin I don’t mind smashing.

2. “Ma Fee May Sekhne” (There is not hot water)

You know the feeling; you get home exhausted, longing for that warm shower that will leave you relaxed and snug. Then your mom surprises you with the one thing you didn’t want to hear…there’s not hot water available.

3. “The WiFi is Down”

But what about my assignment? What about the episode I wanted to stream? What about all the Facebook posts I have to comment on?! Why do bad things happen to good people?

4. “YouTube Ads”

Come on, that five secondwait until you can skip the ad can be pretty scary! (Yes, I know we can block ads, but let’s ignore that for the sake of the article.)

5. “Sakkaro el Taree2”

You know the terror of hearing those two words; whether people closed the roads for a protest, a wedding celebration, or because someone passed their exams – the panic is of equal magnitude. You need to start thinking of new roads and go on expeditions to avoid all the traffic and get home safe and sound.

6. “Mariam Noor”

Do I need to elaborate? I think she scares us all.

P.S. If you’re reading this Ms. Nour, it’s just a joke. I love you, please don’t send your alien friends to abduct me.

7. “We Need to Talk”

This one is guaranteed to spook you, whether you hear it from a parent, a boyfriend/girlfriend, a teacher, or a friend. The anxiety will kill you as you start contemplating every single thing you could have possibly done wrong.
