Deir el Mkhalles to Kalaat el Hosn. A hike at the limit between the chouf and the South (Jezzine)
The journey will begin by the visit of the Church and the iconostasis of the Saint Sauveur Convent belonging to the Greek – Catholic built in 1771.
You will begin the hike starting the Litani power station after visiting Deir el Saydé 2km away from Saint Sauveur Convent. You will walk on a trail between pine and oak trees and other types of wild plants, hoping to see orchids on your way. You will cross a former ottoman bridge that joins the banks of Bisri River which separates the Chouf district from South to finally reach a crusade fortress: Kalaat el Hosn.

Meeting Location: At the parking next to the Emergency Entrance of the Sacré Cœur hospital Hazmieh.
What to bring
walking shoes, back pack, water, light meal (sandwich, dried fruits,..), sunglasses, sun screen, lipstick, hat, wind breaker (K-way), fleece jacket.
