New Low: Lebanese Men Sent By Govt To Kill Birds Around Beirut’s Airport
This past week, news has been circulating about the detrimental conditions at Beirut’s International Airport due to the Costa Brava landfill. The landfill bordering the airport’s wall has attracted birds that could possibly lead to a plane crash. You can read more details here.
But now for the new low: the government has allegedly contracted men to shoot and kill the birds.
This is our government’s big solution to the environmental and humanitarian disaster that is the Costa Brava landfill. This is what our government deems to be a legal and viable.
While countries around the world are making strides towards enacting environmental laws and animal protection, we are creating more landfills to cover up a trash crisis and an aviation disaster. While other countries are maximizing flight protection and investing in making air travel as safe as possible, we’re shooting down birds.
This isn’t fucking Angry Birds.
